Design

Design

The New Zafira Tourer looks and feels better than ever. It’s even better at looking after you too. Inspired by the high-tech luxury of high-speed trains, the New Zafira Tourer redefines motoring flexibility. Luxury for up to seven with premium class quality and style.

Exterior

Exterior

The dynamic headlamps which join with the markedly sportier grille set the tone for the Zafira Tourer’s fresh new design. The sculptural chrome logo bar optically blends into the headlights, giving the car a wider look. The new typical Opel double chrome wing Daytime Running Lights – the upper one doubles as an LED blinker – adding to the striking impression the Zafira Tourer makes with its solid, sporty and dynamic front design.

Interior

Interior

There’s plenty to love inside the New Zafira Tourer. The elegant cockpit design gives driver and front passenger optimum forward visibility. All important functions such as the display and operating controls are comfortably within the driver’s reach zone. While the infotainment system’s display was located above the center console before, it has been replaced by a touchscreen in the new cockpit and integrated lower down in the center console

Front seats with AGR certified ergonomics provide loads of adjustable settings to find your perfect seating position, including an adjustable front cushion, seat tilt and power lumbar adjustment.

There’s even a hidden compartment large enough for a handbag, tablet or a slim laptop. Once you’re comfy and organised inside the Zafira Tourer you’ll find it quiet, calm and accommodating as ever.  You’ll also notice higher quality materials, sophisticated colour choices and calm ambient lighting too, which all go together to make the Zafira Tourer look and feel a very nice place to be.

FlexFix® rear carrier system

FlexFix® rear carrier system

Inside, the load-carrying potential is exceptional, with lots of storage features and space for all your kit. Outside, the optional FlexFix® carrier, which is cleverly integrated into the rear bumper, makes light work of carrying a couple of bikes. You can both secure and carry your bikes with safety and ease – it simply slides out of the rear bumper when you need it and slides invisibly back in when you’re back home – nice, neat and no fuss – ideal for those spur-of-the-moment cycling trips.

Electronic Climate Control (ECC)

Electronic Climate Control (ECC)

Air quality and control is a major aspect of the New Zafira Tourer interior comfort. Regulated by multi-zone sun sensing, the Electronic Climate Control (ECC) offers a new quietness and sense of control, including individual driver setting memory, so both front seat occupants can choose their preferred temperature. For easy control of the ideal climate comfort for driver and co-driver, settings are displayed on the central display.

Heated steering wheel

FlexConsole

FlexConsole

Ready to hand on SE and Elite models, the FlexRail® centre console system gives you an armrest fit for royalty. The ergonomic seat

Front seats with AGR certified ergonomics provide loads of adjustable settings to find your perfect seating position, including an adjustable front cushion, seat tilt and power lumbar adjustment to suit your posture – perfectly.

The ergonomic seat is approved and recommended by AGR (Aktion Gesunder  Rücken e.V.), a German medical association that has set orthopedic requirements for car seats.

Lounge seating system

Lounge seating system

On SE and Elite models the second row can be easily configured as two seats by simply sliding the outer seats inwards. A clever mechanism allows the middle seat backrest to fold forward and rotate providing a comfortable armrest for the outer seats. This gives limousine like comfort, helped by the fact that both seats can also slide back ensuring best in class legroom. This whole process can be easily managed in a few seconds, even when the car is underway, giving the remarkably spacious comfort of a ’lounge on wheels’

Flex7® seating system

Flex7® seating system

The Flex7® seating system offers you the option of seven seats, or any combination from two to seven in just a few seconds. Also it has the advantage that all the rear seats fold into the floor, leaving a flat load space.

In the New Zafira Tourer the second row consists of three individual seats that can be folded flat and moved independently of each other. Each can be slid backwards or forwards giving exceptionally generous legroom, or increasing rear load or passenger space.

The instant upgrade

Start/Stop to save fuel

Start/Stop to save fuel

The start/stop system saves fuel, especially in city traffic. The engine stops when the car comes to a standstill with transmission in neutral and starts instantly as soon as the clutch pedal is engaged again. When the system is active and the engine is stopped, the rev-counter needle goes to the ‘AUTOSTOP’ position to signal that it’s ready to start automatically. The start/stop system uses an enhanced alternator, starter and battery.

Upsized power, downsized emissions

Upsized power, downsized emissions

With the agile response and handling of a mid-sized car, New Zafira Tourer is equally capable whether about town or on the motorway. And, throughout its superb choice of German-engineered  diesel engines, fuel economy and emission control are excellent. The 1.6CDTi (134PS) diesel model achieves up to 4.5 litres/100km3 while, thanks to BlueInjection4 technology, C02 emissions are kept as low as 119g/km. Impressive for a car of its size.

Rear view camera

Rear view camera

The rear view camera shows the area behind the car on the centre console display, helping you to reverse safely, using the rear bumper as a point of reference. The screen shows overlayed graphic lines indicating the reversing path based on the steering wheel’s angle.

Cruise control with speed limiter

Cruise control with speed limiter

Whilst Cruise Control is practical in fluid traffic on motorway etc., the advantage of the speed limiter function is that it can also be used in town driving and dense traffic, where it enables the vehicle to be hold under a set speed. The speed limiter function allows the driver to set a maximum speed up from 25 km/h for the vehicle.

The limiting function can be very helpful in staying in compliance with speed limits in 30 km/h zone in urban settings.

The driver can override the speed limit with kickdown. In this case a warning is displayed in the DIC. The speed limiter function is automatically reactivated after any deceleration or braking, bringing the vehicle below the selected speed limit by reducing torque.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Available with as part of the Driver Assistance Pack, the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) of the Zafira Tourer uses a radar sensor to monitor the distance to the preceding traffic and to maintain the chosen gap by adjusting the speed automatically. Forward Collision Alert (FCA) is active above walking speed and gives a visual and audible warning when approaching too close.

Side blind spot alert

Side blind spot alert

Also available as part of the Driver Assistance Pack, the side blind spot alert uses side-mounted sensors to check if there is an obstructing vehicle in the inner or outside lane when you want to pull over. It continually monitors the blind spots on both sides and lights an LED in the inner or outer rear view mirror when a vehicle is in this area. If the indicator is used when a vehicle is in this problem zone the LED flashes and an audible warning sounds. It is active up to 140 km/h.

Adaptive Forward Lighting

Adaptive Forward Lighting

Available as part of the Premium Forward Lighting Pack, full LED Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL) gives you greater visibility and safety at night by adapting the LED lighting patterns automatically to steering angle and speed, and according to your driving situation. Overall, the LED AFL system lights the road 30% brighter than halogen bulbs.

High beam with assist

High beam with assist

The headlight high beam assist noticeably increases night driving comfort and safety. The system switches automatically from dipped to high beam depending on oncoming or preceding traffic.

All around protection

All around protection

Like every Opel the Zafira Tourer is based upon a sophisticated structure that protects against intrusion and deformation of the passenger safety cell. This forms the perfect basis for all of the passive systems, such as the front, side and curtain airbags, plus the active safety systems that put the New Zafira Tourer right out in front when it comes to protecting you and your passengers.
